下地イサム
下地 イサム（しもじ いさむ）
1969年生まれ。沖縄県宮古島市平良出身。
オリジナル曲の多くを宮古島の言葉（ミャークフツ）で、ブルース、レゲエ、フォルクローレなど多様な音楽にのせて歌うシンガーソングライター。
沖縄県立宮古高校を卒業し、18歳で上京。音楽とはまったく無縁の7年間の東京生活を経て、25歳で沖縄本島に戻る。サラリーマンをしながら30歳の時に転機が訪れ、シンガーソングライターになる。
現在は沖縄本島を拠点に、県外・海外でのライブ活動を行っている。
国際基督教大学（ICU）をはじめ、県内外の大学で特別講義を行った経験を持ち、ユネスコ指定の絶滅危惧言語である宮古言語を、誇りと自信をもって音楽として表現し、国内外へ届けている。
ソロ活動のほか、新良幸人と「THE SAKISHIMA meeting」、島袋優（BEGIN）と「シモブクレコード」としても活動し、岩崎宏美、夏川りみなど、多くのアーティストへの楽曲提供に加え、CMソングや社歌など、多様なシーンに向けた楽曲制作も手がけている。
コロナ禍にDTMを独学で学び、楽曲の内容に応じて生音とDTMを使い分けながら、トラックメイク、アレンジ、マスタリングまでを自身で手がける制作も行っている。2025年には、初の試みとして宮古民謡を題材にしたアルバム『COOLMIN～波音民謡 宮古編～』を主にDTMで制作。ささやくような歌唱と波音を重ね、伝統とデジタルが共鳴する作品となった。
2023年よりベーシスト・安田陽とともに「DTMオキナワ」の活動を開始。
沖縄県内で学生向けのDTMコンテストを開催し、2025年の第2回大会では沖縄県知事が来場し高い評価を受ける。若い世代が自身の音楽を発表できる場を設け、新しい音楽の担い手が生まれる機会を創出している。子どもたちとのコラボレーションによるCMサウンドロゴの制作など、地域に根ざした活動も行っている。

Isamu Shimoji
Singer-Songwriter / Composer
Born in 1969 in Hirara, Miyakojima City, Okinawa Prefecture.
He is a singer-songwriter who performs many of his original songs in the Miyako dialect (Myahkfutsu), while fusing a diverse range of musical styles.
After moving to Tokyo at the age of 18 and living a life unrelated to music, he returned to the main island of Okinawa at 25 and began his career as a singer songwriter at 30. He is currently based on the main island of Okinawa and performs live throughout Japan, as well as internationally.
The Miyako language has been designated by UNESCO as an endangered language.
He shares and expresses the Miyako language through his music with pride and confidence. In addition, he has also given special lectures at universities across Japan.
Aside from his solo career, he is active in the “THE SAKISHIMA meeting” (with Yukito Ara) and “Shimobuku Records” (with Masaru Shimabukuro of BEGIN).Beyond providing songs for artists such as Hiromi Iwasaki and Rimi Natsukawa, he creates music for various other projects, including commercial jingles.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he taught himself DTM (Desktop Music/Digital Audio Workstation). He now handles his own production, including everything from recording and arranging to mixing and mastering. He utilizes both live audio recording and DTM depending on the needs of the song.
In 2023, he established “DTM OKINAWA” and launched a DTM contest for students.
He is also dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musical talent and engaging in community-based activities.
